HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 17 /Daily Offbeat/ -- Scarlett Johansson is absolutely hypnotic as the snake Kaa in The Jungle Book trailer.Disney released the first trailer for its upcoming film The Jungle Book, the live-action version of the 1967 cartoon classic The Jungle Book and all I can look at is the snake.
Scarlett Johansson is prepping for some kind of hypnotic world domination. The "thinking man's sex symbol" gets into our brains as the seductive snake Kaa, who brings Mowgli into the deepest darkness of the jungle. Johansson has been teasing with hypnotic roles, entrancing men through sex in Under the Skin and taking on one of the most mesmerizing Marvel heroes, (Natalia Alianovna "Natasha" Romanova, AKABlack Widow. As the first female depiction of the serpent Kaa, she will become a fantasy for the ages.
Jungle Book was directed by Jon Favreau. It stars newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli; Bill Murray as the voice of Baloo, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Lupita Nyong'o as Raksha, and Christoper Walken as King Louie.
Disney is on a role with live action reboots, having put flesh in reboots of Maleficent and Cinderella. Another version of Rudyard Kipling's classic story is being directed by Andy Serkis and will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Jack Reynor. It comes out in 2016.
Scarlett Johansson made her film debut in the movie North in 1994. In 1996, she was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead for her performance in "Manny & Lo." She got great notices for her roles in "The Horse Whisperer" from 1998 and "Ghost World" in 2001 before moving on to adult roles like her turn in "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" which were both released in 2003. She was nominated for Golden Globe Awards for both films. Johansson won a BAFTA award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for "Lost in Translation."
